What we fitted
Made-to-measure light grey plantation shutters on the lounge bay, covering the front and side lights, and a matching shutter in the deep recess of the hallway window. In the bay, the rail follows the top-light line so the panels sit neatly with the glazing. In the hall, the mid-rail is set near the opening sash so the top louvres can be opened on their own.
Why light grey
White is the most common choice, but a soft grey suits rooms that already have grey walls and furnishings, as this lounge does. Using the same colour in the hall means the front windows match from outside, and the hallway gets privacy by the front door without frosted film or nets.
